Culinary Corner: 2010 Holiday Edition

Two locally owned bakeries, J. Edwards Fine Chocolates and Blondies Cookies, are highlighted in this holiday edition of Culinary Corner.  Both offer delicious sweets, perfect for enjoying and giving during the holiday season!

J. Edwards Fine Chocolates, Gourmet Cakes & Unique Gifts

J. Edwards Fine Chocolates & Gourmet Cakes & Unique Gifts, located at 2106 West Sycamore Street, was established in Kokomo in 2003.  The shop offers a large variety of handmade regular and sugar-free chocolates, as well as over 30 different gourmet cakes.  The cakes that I have tasted are all outstanding, including the Banana Split and the Triple Chocolate, but my favorite is the Red Velvet cake with chocolate ganache!  Decorated cakes can be custom ordered for special occaisions, and cake by the slice is also available.  In addition, the store offers gift baskets, specialty food items, and unique gifts.  Visit their Blog to see photos or call 765-626-0142 for more information.

Cakes and chocolates by J. Edwards

Blondies Cookies became an Indiana based corporation in 1985, the same year the first store was established in Kokomo’s Markland Mall.  They offer over 20 varieties of gourmet cookies, three types of brownies, cookie cakes, and now have stores in various locations throughout Indiana.
Gift boxes, baskets, bags, tins, and party trays are available with your choice of cookie or brownie selections, and are perfect for serving at holiday parties or giving as gifts.  If you enjoy chocolate, you will love the Ko Ko Swirls, a rich chocolate shortbread cookie topped with a swirl of dark chocolate ganache frosting.  They are sinfully delicious!  Visit www.BlondiesCookies.com or call 888-298-6820 to place an order.
