5th Annual Winter Woolen Workshop

All day workshops and demonstrations in early samplers, spinning & weaving, hand quilting, rug hooking, knitting, crocheting, and much more will be featured during the 5th Annual Winter Woolen Workshop.  The event will be held at the Seiberling Mansion and Elliott House (1200 West Sycamore Street, Kokomo) on Feb. 26 & 27, 2011. 

Hours are 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission is $10 per person (for both days.)  All ages are invited to participate.  Vendors will also sell their wares and materials.  For more information or to see photos from last year’s event, visit the website or call 765-236-1000.

2011 Red Hot & Wild Kokomo Chili Cook-Off

Are you ready for a warm up this winter?  The weather may be chilly, but the chili will be hot during the 11th Annual Red Hot & Wild Kokomo Chili Cook-off!  The event will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Kokomo Event Center, located on U.S. 31. 

A variety of different chili will be available for tasting.  From mild to hot and sweet to spicy, there will definitely be something for everyone’s taste!  Then, vote for your favorite chili to see who wins the coveted People’s Choice category.  Along with tasting, there will be food, great entertainment, and beverages for all ages!  This is also a Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) Sanctioned Cook-Off. 

Doors will open for chili tasting and voting at 1:00 p.m.  People’s Choice voting will conclude at 3:45 p.m. with chili tasting from 1:00-4:00 p.m. or while supplies last.  Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the door.  Children ages 9 & under are free!  To purchase tickets, call the Greater Kokomo Howard County Chamber of Commerce at 765-457-5301.  Tickets are also available at the following locations in Kokomo:
