Kokomo’s Christmas Tree House Opens This Weekend

During most of the year, the residence at 1501 East Sycamore Street in Kokomo is just like any other house.  That all changes each November when the owners magically transform their home into the We Care Christmas Tree House, which has become one of Kokomo’s annual holiday attractions.

The Christmas Tree House beautifully decorated for the holidays

Hours upon hours are spent hanging Christmas lights, carefully displaying dozens of holiday wreaths, snowmen, Santas, and decorating approximately 140 Christmas trees.  Yes, you read that right.  Over 140 themed Christmas trees are on display throughout the home!

140 Christmas trees are displayed throughout the home!

I was completely in awe last year during my tour, and I am looking forward to going again this year to see all the new additions!  Truly a Christmas wonderland, there is no better place to get in the holiday spirit!  The inside of the home is beautifully decorated from top to bottom, with no nook or cranny left untouched.

Kokomo’s Christmas Tree House

During the holiday season each year, a normal residence in Kokomo transforms into a Christmas wonderland that is truly amazing.  Located at 1501 East Sycamore Street, the We Care Christmas Tree House is a must-see holiday attraction.   I was fortunate to get a personal tour last Friday from the owner of the residence and was truly in awe!

Christmas Tree House

The beautiful home is decorated top to bottom (literally!) with 130 Christmas trees and 45,000 Christmas lights.  Each tree has a special theme and there are even decorated trees hanging upside down on display.  My favorite was the black crystal tree – the Christmas tree is actually black and has beautiful crystal ornaments on it that sparkle in the lights.  In addition to their trees, there is an enormous village display and any kind of Christmas decoration that you can imagine.   Every nook and cranny is filled with something – even the laundry room and bathrooms!

The Christmas Tree House is open now through December 31, 2008(closed on December 24 & 25) and admission is free.  Donations are accepted for We Care, an organization in Kokomo that benefits local charities.   The home will be open during the month of January by appointment only and private showings and groups can also schedule specific times to tour.  If you are looking for something to do this  holiday season, plan a trip to Kokomo.  You will not be disappointed!
