Celebrate the 4th of July in Kokomo with Haynes-Apperson Festival & Fireworks!

The Fourth of July holiday brings fun, fireworks, and the annual Haynes-Apperson Festival in Kokomo!  We invite you to join us as we celebrate our community’s history and automotive heritage.  Admission is free.  Enjoy food, rides, car show, cruise-ins, sports, parade, and fantastic outdoor concerts in Downtown Kokomo’s Foster Park on July 4-6, 2013.

All concerts are free, and headliners include Blue Oyster Cult (July 4), Here Come the Mummies (July 5), and Night Ranger (July 6.)  Parade will be held Saturday, July 6 at 2 p.m.  Fireworks will be Saturday night around 10 p.m.  For a  complete schedule of activities, including parade route, amusement ride bracelets, and entertainment line-up, visit www.HaynesAppersonFestival.org.

Also, celebrate the Fourth during the annual fireworks show at the Howard County Fairgrounds in Greentown on July 4, 2013 at dusk.

August 2-4, 2013 – Weberfest – 3 days of great music.  Friday: Rich Mahan & the Cocktail Heroes with special guests Two Cow Garage, Grifters and Shills, Nashville Regulars, Walker County, and Dicky James and the Blue Flames.  Saturday: The Original Wailers with special guests Jason Skaggs Band, Hannah’s Pocket, Fossil Generation, No Coast, and Rodeo Ruby Love.  Sunday is Kids Day at the Park featuring Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players.  In addition, Food Truck Revolution held Saturday during concerts with several gourmet food trucks on site.

Free Summer Concert Series & Festivals Rock Downtown Kokomo (Revised)

There are also many unique festivals in Kokomo for visitors to experience this summer.  All ages will enjoy celebrating Kokomo’s automotive heritage with food, arts & crafts, sports, car show, daily cruise-ins, parade, carnival, and live music at the Haynes-Apperson Festival in Downtown Kokomo on June 28-30, 2012.  Also, visit one of Indiana’s largest county fairs at the Howard County 4-H Fair held at the Howard County Fairgrounds on July 9-14, 2012.

Sample local food & drinks from hometown restaurants and enjoy live music, food contests, and kid’s activities throughout the event!  Bluegrass lovers will want to mark their calendars for August 24-26, 2012 to attend the Winding Creek Bluegrass Festival in Wildcat Valley (Western Howard County) for a multi-day music festival with bands performing the best in bluegrass throughout the weekend.

Celebrate the 4th of July in Kokomo!

The Fourth of July weekend in Kokomo is jam-packed with family fun!  Don’t miss all the great activities going on in the city.  The best part?  It’s all FREE!

Celebrate Kokomo’s legacy of automotive heritage during the Haynes-Apperson Festival in Downtown Kokomo on June 30 through July 2, 2011.  The festival will be open on Thursday & Friday 5-11 p.m. and Saturday Noon-11 p.m.  Admission is free.  Enjoy carnival rides, food vendors, arts and crafts, and large sports festival.  Don’t miss the free cruise-ins on Thursday and Friday nights from 6-9 p.m. and Haynes-Apperson Festival Car Show on Saturday from 4-7 p.m.  Other Saturday highlights include annual parade at 2 p.m. and great fireworks show at 10 p.m.  For complete schedule of events, visit the festival website at www.HaynesAppersonFestival.org

Haynes-Apperson Festival Car Show in Downtown Kokomo

Don’t forget the fantastic music!  The Haynes-Apperson Festival will have a great line-up of concerts this year, including InsideOut at 6 p.m. and Here Come the Mummies at 8 p.m. on Thursday night.  Friday night concerts include Jessie Brown at 6 p.m., Paul Stout Country at 7:30 p.m., and LoCash Cowboys at 9 p.m.  The Joe Cameron Band will perform at 6:30 p.m. to open for Boyz II Men at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday.  VIP tickets are available at Palmer’s Jewelry, Granson Jewelers, and at the information tent at the festival.  All concerts are free and located on the Courthouse Square in Downtown Kokomo!

In conjunction with the Haynes-Apperson Festival, celebrate Automotive Heritage Days at the Markland Mall now through July 2, 2011.  Kokomo’s first motorized fire engine is on display, a 1915 Ahrens Fox Fire Engine.  Admission is free.    

See daring aerobatics at the Kokomo Wings and Wheels Air Show

Next, head to the Kokomo Municipal Airport on Saturday, July 2 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the Kokomo Wings and Wheels Air Show.  The event will feature the Checkertail Clan’s T-6 Texan, P-51 Mustang, and many other WWII Warbirds.  Also, Greg Aldridge in his Super Chipmunk, Mike Wild in the Super Decathlon, Bob Richards’ amazing Pitts performance, Dick Darlington in his Pitts S2, Al Hoover in his Stearman, and more!  The Air Show will feature jet acts and aerobatics, and there will also be a large static display of classic, antique, hot rod cars, and a skydiving demonstration at 10 a.m.  Tickets will be available for the pancake breakfast from 8-11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  For more details, visit www.KokomoWingsandWheels.net.
