Free Summer Concert Series & Festivals Rock Downtown Kokomo (Revised)

Downtown Kokomo will be rockin’ this summer with free concerts throughout the season!  Most performances will take place at the Kokomo Arts Pavilion in Foster Park (located at the corner of Washington & Superior Streets in Downtown.)  All concerts are family-friendly and perfect for a date night or spending time with family or friends.  Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and even a picnic for a free activity packed with fantastic entertainment.  For more details, visit KokomoSummerSeries.com.

August 3-4, 2012 – Weberfest featuring Shiny Penny and the Critical Shoes and Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, along with over ten other bands and performers (Foster Park)

August 17, 2012 – Pink Droyd Laser Light Spectacular with special guest Dave DeMaggio (Foster Park)

There are also many unique festivals in Kokomo for visitors to experience this summer.  All ages will enjoy celebrating Kokomo’s automotive heritage with food, arts & crafts, sports, car show, daily cruise-ins, parade, carnival, and live music at the Haynes-Apperson Festival in Downtown Kokomo on June 28-30, 2012.  Also, visit one of Indiana’s largest county fairs at the Howard County 4-H Fair held at the Howard County Fairgrounds on July 9-14, 2012.

Experience the best of Kokomo cuisine at the Taste of Kokomo, an annual favorite in Downtown on August 18, 2012. Sample local food & drinks from hometown restaurants and enjoy live music, food contests, and kid’s activities throughout the event!  Bluegrass lovers will want to mark their calendars for August 24-26, 2012 to attend the Winding Creek Bluegrass Festival in Wildcat Valley (Western Howard County) for a multi-day music festival with bands performing the best in bluegrass throughout the weekend.

RibFest – June 11, 2011

Hours: 4 pm – Midnight
Delicious ribs, great food, kid’s activities, live music featuring Danny Seraphine and CTA.  If you enjoy ribs, this is definitely the place to be!

Grillmasters Barbeque Challenge – August 20, 2011

During this all day event kicking off the Taste of Kokomo, teams will compete in Barbeque Cook-Off.  People’s Choice voting Noon-3pm with tickets.  Awards will be given at 4pm.
